New Long Road – a folk-pop-jazz-classical group – is the updated version of the original Long Road, a popular ‘60s-style folk group that played around Northern Ohio for 10 years. New Long Road‘s original members David Budin (guitar and vocals) and Celia Hollander Lewis (Celtic harp, 12-string guitar, banjo and vocals) have joined forces with Northern Ohio favorite Robin Stratton (vocals), plus cellist Julie Myers King and flutist Linda White. The group performs many of the original Long Road’s songs, but in completely new ways, and also new songs, including David Budin originals; with David still providing humor and music history between songs. New Long Road plays songs you've never heard before, or have heard, but never like this.
New Long Road members have performed onstage with, or opened for, an array of world-famous artists, including Jeff Beck, Jefferson Starship, Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, Jimi Hendrix (that's right), Graham Nash, Peter Yarrow, Harry Connick Jr., The Eagles, Rod Stewart, Paul |
Shaffer, The Three Tenors, Clay Aiken, Sarah Brightman,
Dennis DeYoung (of Styx), Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Roberta Flack, Don Henley and Mannheim Steamroller. And Julie and Linda, specifically, play or have played with the Akron Symphony, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Blossom Festival Orchestra, the Cleveland Pops, the Blue Water Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland Opera Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and Canton Symphony. New Long Road believes in doing what the group's founder David Budin calls a “whole show,” meaning that there is no down time – Budin provides humor and music history between all the songs. Long Road performs infrequently, by design, and every show includes songs the group has never performed prior to that one. So catch a Long Road show when you can. For instance, a very good time to see them would be at their next show – wherever that may be. Please check the "Gigs" page on this site. |
