AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
Suma Recording Studio concert - October 26, 2024 Mary Ann N.: "I really enjoyed the music, old tunes and new. And the comprehensive knowledge you have and so easily share as story telling was a great added bonus. I am not native to NEO, so the Cleveland music scene is something I knew about only through my Cleveland friends at Ohio U back in the '70s. The stories of the clubs and concerts were legend. We had nothing comparable in SEO; Columbus surely did not have the music scene that could compare. Your first-hand recall fills in many gaps. "I also want to compliment you on the inclusion of the cello and flute with your guitars, vocals and such. And the harp was a special treat. Your flutist was terrific and brought a great energy both with her playing and her stage presence. And the cello really showed the versatility of low strings we don't always get to see or hear in an orchestra setting. A unique mix of music, and it really worked. Bravo !" Cain Park - August 4, 2024: * Serge K. (long-time classical musician; excerpts from his Facebook comments): "I walked over to Cain Park to see/hear the group New Long Road. … They bill themselves as a "folk-pop-jazz-classical" band, and I wouldn't disagree. Their sound and harmonies are effective, and songs touching. I enjoyed them. … The audience liked them a lot. David's wry humor from many years on and off stage in the business, captured them too." * Marilyn L.: We so enjoyed the New Long Road concert yesterday. What a relaxing, congenial way to spend a Sunday afternoon. You and your ensemble members are so talented, and obviously you all spend a lot of time preparing. The song choices, arrangements, harmonies, and of course the classic David stories, all added up to a fun experience. Can't wait for the next concert! * George S.: We enjoyed it thoroughly. We like your song choices; haven’t heard "Without Her" in years, and hearing it again reminded me of how good it is. The Judy Collins song was a forgotten gem. Also enjoyed the humor between the songs. We look forward to future shows. * Joanne W.: I have been enjoying these songs all over again [via videos of the show] ...so pretty, especially with the flute and cello. * Michael S.: Loving the video clips I’m seeing of your show. Wish I could have made it out. * Liza G.: I enjoyed your performance at Cain Park yesterday! It was fun to see the new band lineup. Congratulations. It was lovely. I had a really wonderful time and it was so nice to hear you sing again. * Bob S.: You folks played well. Robin's voice adds a new level of professionalism. David and Celia were solid as usual. Flute and cello were great. * Jim M.: I was able to attend your debut today at Cain Park. Well done. Good song selection with excellent harmonies. Neat addition with the flute and cello. And, of course, I enjoyed your commentary. |
